The junior department in the school i work at were set the challenge to write a story in the day. Year 1 wrote the first part passed onto year 2 and so on thro the day until…. They produced this story. They will now use thier ICT lessons to trun it into an illustrated book. Enjoy…
The Ghost’s Doom

Once upon a time there was a cat in the dark wood and he was running around scared. While he was running he saw a scary ghost,
it was tall, big and white like snow. The ghost howled at him. Charlie, the cat, remembered he was a secret agent and he had to be brave and strong. SO…
He began to run through the dark woodland towards what appeared to be a bubbling swamp. The smell was like rotten eggs and smelly socks with steam rising upwards.
Charlie lost his balance and fell head first holding his nose tightly. The swamp let him into a magical land. There was a huge silver fridge door, Charlie opened the door and to his suprise he could see the entrance to a laboratory. He recognised a voice coming from the next room, so he began to investigate, ” is anyone there” ? and suddendly a voice cried out “is that you Charlie? its me agent 006″ ……………….

“It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you 006. Does this mean we have another mystery to solve?”
“Yes,” explained 006. “I have just received a letter from our old friend Bob. He is in trouble and we have to rescue him! He has been kidnapped!”
Charlie replied, “Maybe it was the scary ghost I saw in the dark wood”

Charlie and 006 went over to the trackometer in the laboratory and typed in Bob’s name in code. Immediately, the machine told them where Bob was. He was in a haunted castle where the ghost lived. Charlie and 006 scooped up the trackometer, sat nav, first aid box (super pack), walkie talkies and tuna sandwiches for Charlie and egg mayonnaise sandwiches for 006 (his favourite). They jumped onto their firebolt 2000 and zoomed towards the haunted castle, excited and a little nervous….

The broomstick whizzed through the air, they zoomed so quickly that a trail of tuna sandwiches flew out from behind them. As they approached the haunted castle they saw great clouds of vampire bats circling above them. The walls of the castle were covered in a green, foul smelling slime. Charlie and 006 landed with a thump on the roof of the castle and began to slide awkwardly down onto the ledge, next to an open window.

Charlie and 006 climbed cautiously through the open window, but as they did so Charlie’s jumper caught on to the catch and the window closed behind them. How were they going to escape? In front of them lay a trap door, they opened the door and rolled down a flight of stairs, landing in a heap at the bottom. To the left of them they noticed a room. At the same time the trackometer started to beep. Charlie glanced at the machine and realised that Bob was very close to them. Charlie and 006 were acting bravely ,but feeling extremely anxious at the same time. They reached for the handle of the wooden door in front of them and …….

Opened it! There infront of their eyes they saw Bob. He was sitting crouched up in a little ball in the corner of a cage and large tear drops were trickling down his sad little cheeks. “Bob we are so glad to see you. Are you ok?” But Bob could not speak. Charlie and 006 realised that the ghost had put a spell on Bob and he was unable to speak. “Oh Bob, you poor thing. How can we get you out of this horrible cage?” Bob jumped up and started to point towards a slimy, sticky cupboard. Charlie and 006 ran towards the cupboard and quickly flung open the door. Inside the slimy, sticky cupboard there was a gorgeous, sparkly box and inside the gorgeous, sparkly box there was a shiny, glowing, glimmering key. 006 snatched the key and opened the cage. Just as the cage door sprang open Bob’s voice came back. “Thank you so much you two,” said Bob, “I never thought I would escape.” As the three friends ran towards the door, the ghost came back in a flash………….

There was something about the ghost that Charlie didn’t like; its eyes looked like somebody he’d seen before, someone from another mission. Instantly he felt that there was an object that could help him. Charlie reached for his trusty rucksack and delved to the bottom to find his First Aid kit. Having attended First Aid Club, he realised that the bandages would come in handy one day! Just as the ghost was reaching for Bob again, Charlie crept towards the ghost and zoomed around him.

“Round and round and round and round and round,” he sang as he mummified the ghost. He pushed him into the small cage and locked it tightly. The ghost started singing, “Somebody help me please” in a wobbly voice.

Bob quickly snatched a fragment of a very precious stone from the top of the gorgeous, sparkly box. “We need this stone to help us survive,” he commented. They rushed up the steps to the trapdoor and came to the room where the window was closed.

“How can we escape?” said 006.

“We could try the satnav to find an alternative route!” miaowed Charlie. Charlie selected ‘Home’ on the satnav. Once it had found it’s signal, it showed that there was another way out of the castle. They plugged the satnav into the Firebolt 2000 and said “We’re freeeeeee!”

The bats began to whirl around them. “Quick, do something!” shrieked Charlie. 006 reached into the handy rucksack and threw his precious egg mayo sandwiches to the bats. The bats greedily ate them.

“Oh no, the satnav’s not working! What will we do now?” moaned Bob, who just wanted to get home.

Then Charlie smelt his favourite tuna sandwiches. Tuna sandwiches were not the bats’ favourites and so they were lying on the ground still. “Follow the sandwiches!” screeched Charlie.

Moments later they were safe in the laboratory. “Thank you – I think we lost them!” sighed Bob.

006 said “Another mystery is solved – Charlie you can go home now . . until the next mission.” He opened the fridge in the laboratory and crossed through the passway, where he ended up in the swamp again.

Back at the woods he heaved a sigh of relief and reflected on the mission. “Friendship will help you climb any mountain,” he thought.
