We work for free

Starting a new tri at my school and having to change my schedule all the time. I also laugh at the fact that today the world works for free, nobody gets payed for their work today, which also is sad.

Julius Caesar

It wasn’t until Julius Caesar came to power that people observed a 355 day calendar, with an extra 22 day month. This was a problem because it caused the feast days to fall under different seasons. Caesar ordered his astronomer, Sosigenes to simplify things. Soseignes then made a 365 day year, with an extra day every 4 years. Thus, February 29th was born.

In the Pirates of Penzance the character Fredric is apprenticed to a band of pirates until his 21st birthday. When he supposedly turns 21 he leaves and gets set to be married. However, the pirates find out he was born on Leap Day and so then has to return to sea until well into his 80′s.

In the Pirates of Penzance the character Fredric is apprenticed to a band of pirates until his 21st birthday. When he supposedly turns 21 he leaves and gets set to be married. However, the pirates find out he was born on Leap Day and so then has to return to sea until well into his 80′s.

Trivia

2000 and 1600 are example of years that end in 00, where there are leap years in fact they are the exception to the rule. For example 2100, 2300 and 1900 will not have a leap year.

Dance Dance

Feb. 29 is traditionally a day where women were “permitted” to ask men to marry them. Today schoosl celebate Sadie Hawkins Day, where girls ask the boys to a dance, representing leap day.

Trivia

Leap year comes every four years and years that end in 00 are typically not leap years however years that are divisible by 4 are leaps years so 1600 and 2000 are leaps years so years like 2100 or 1500 or not. So today I am researching interesting facts and listening to music from the eighties.
