So, there we are. Another working day is coming to an end.
Gate duty wasn’t so bad.
Year 11 were really attentive; fielding probing questions; recalling facts; pulling together knowledge to attempt ever more tricky problems.
Visited at lunchtime by groups of students wanting to post on this blog.
Twilight for two hours after school on Numeracy Across the Curriculum was really first-class. Watching other faculties try out our prepared mathematical starters was great fun!
A 100-square jigsaw in Bengali; an ‘averages’ weather card sort for four cities around the world; calculating BMI; car journey to school using images from Google Earth; cookery weights and measures in very different units. Lots of questioning, logic and mathematical ideas were heard around the room.
Time to now finish off preparation for tomorrows’ lessons. Year 8 ICT using Census at School data, and Year 7 maths starting transformations.
Big sigh . . . . .

Waiting for tomorrow . . .
Tomorrow, or should it be later on this morning . . , I will get up at 5.50am and get ready to drive to school.
The first thing I will do is look on this site to see how many hits it has taken overnight!
After reading and sending out a few emails, it’s off to early morning duty on the school gate.
My teaching day consists of two Year 11 maths classes; we are going through past papers as part of their revision for the summer exams.
At the end of the day we have a Twilight, run by the Maths Department: ‘Numeracy Across the Curriculum’; should be good.
Finishing at 5pm, it’s time to go home ~ yay!
Then more marking, preparation . . . . but could possibly get side-tracked into reading all the varied blog posts here.
