Today I’m pretty much where I want to be, doing what I want to do. I’ve spent the day in my newly-extended kitchen, working at my laptop and watching birds in the garden. I’ve prepared training materials, sent emails to schools and turned down a full-time job. I’ve written more of the book I’m working on for a publisher. My parents rang to arrange a family gathering, my cats sat on my lap while I drank cups of tea and I walked to the village shop to get milk. The man I love is home and we’re about to make dinner. Maybe I’ll have a bath later, too. All is well in the world.
