Interdependence

Today I taught a lesson on Interdependence and we explored all the things that connect us to the rest of the world. Our books came from Ireland, some of our pencil cases came from Korea, our pens from France, we had some lip gloss made in Spain, school bags made in China, highlighters made in Japan. The list could go on and on (that’s their homework – to add to the list of connections!)
Exploring all these things made us realise how much we are connected to the rest of the world and really how small the world is.
Then I told my students about the Feb29th.net project. If they add their stories tonight to the blog they will be connecting even more to the world around them!
Great teaching and learning opportunities arise all the time.
