Today started off with getting my children out of bed – for once they were both awake and ready to face the day so that made things easier! Once we had all had breakfast, we got in the car and drove the 3.5 miles to school – my children both attend the same school where I work. The class that I work with had a swimming lesson at the local pool, so after registration we walked to the pool – about 1/2 hour walk on the way there – a bit longer on the way back! The children had a wonderful lesson – sadly one of the instructors was retiring today, so we all said a fond farewell to him. It was a lovely day and the walk back was beautiful – lots of new growth on the trees and great to finally hear some birds singing in the trees. Spring is well and truly on it’s way!
After lunch, I worked with a number of children giving them help with various areas. I love this part of my job – great to see the children making progress and grasping subjects they have not quite understood so far.
At the end of the day I was back on taxi duty – my daughter has a horse riding lesson on a Wednesday evening, so we have to make a mad dash from school to get to her lesson on time. I don’t know why but she was upset tonight – something the horse was doing / not doing! Anyway, eventually she got going and enjoyed the rest of the lesson. My son and I watched from the car – would have stayed by the edge of the arena but felt that since daughter was not having a good lesson, best to back off!
A quick visit home before we headed to McDonalds for tea – our one visit of the week and a rare night off from cooking for me! My husband came home early so we met him there and headed home.
Tomorrow is World Book day, so my children have been busy sorting out their costumes – my daughter is going to go dressed as Polyanna and my son is going as a character from the BeastQuest books. All the staff at work are going as Roald Dahl characters – I will be going as Matilda!
All in all, another busy day.
