The Feb29th.net website is on our file server. We have never hosted a blog with so many potential visitors in such short a time. Our big fear was that despite all our best laid plans we simply wouldn’t have enough computer power to keep the website running. I’m writing this at 8:30 in the evening UK time and so far over 10,000 people have left blogposts on the site. As far as we can tell, no-one has had a problem posting, and fingers crossed it has all run smoothly, but I’d be a liar if I said we hadn’t had a few sleepless hours building up to this day. Creative Blogs will be heaving a big sigh of relief when the last timezone clicks into March 1st.

Must be a buzz too that so many people have responded; warm fuzzy feelings tomorrow!
Wow! It’s nice to hear from the people behind the blog website. It’s hard to imagine the file server driving this amazing project.
I can empathise with your stress a bit, in my school today we had about half of our available laptops out and set up for our child’s in the ‘blog room’. All wireless running off our new managed wireless systems for which there was only one access point in this area of our school.
We had a small number of connection problems, which were solved by hard wiring in about 3 laptops in the end, PE mats solved the ‘elf’n'safety issue of trailing cables and it all worked out all right in the end.
We had a few children who hit the submit button and the Internet connection got lost so we are hoping their posts made it into the ether and will float their way to your file server eventually – fingers crossed!
A big bravo to you all for keeping this going.
Yep, we found it hard to imagine, too! Luckily, by keeping the site as simple and as slimline as possible has meant that we are well over 10,500 posts now, and still they keep on coming
It’s been fabulous. Thank you.
