Looking forward to some Pi

I had a good leap day today which started with the announcement that the Raspberry Pi is now available. What is it? Well it’s a computer that costs just over £22. It’s pretty powerful, you can browse the web, watch HD video and more importantly use it to learn how a computer works and to learn programming. Soon it will be available to all UK schools and worldwide. What’s the catch? Well you have to provide a screen but it will plug into a TV, you’d also need a keyboard and mouse but they’re only a few pounds. I’m really excited about this project and I think it will really help more young people get interested in learning to write computer programs.
