  1. Loving your list of reasons to learn languages. As a language teacher, it’s great to see that young people see so many reasons to learn languages. If you don’t mind, I’ll post it on my blog too?
    Thanks

  2. Wow! That list sure is inspiring! Here in Switzerland, it’s very natural to learn several languages: We are such a small country, but have 4 official languages. So if you want to understand at least half the population, you already need 2 languages. It never occurred to me that this was special – until I went to Scotland to work as an assistant teacher for german language. When I switched between english, german and french (with the French assistant teacher), the kids looked at me as if I had suddenly grown another head! On the other hand, when I wanted to make them talk in german, they would often answer: I don’t need that! Everywhere I travel, they will speak english … They were right, then … These days, maybe you would have to add Chinese :-)

  4. Hello!
I didn’t know about Feb29th. I’ll try to post something next year!
I’s been nice to realize that 148 different flags have been collected. I love international meetings. This was a big one!
As for this post I concur it’s simply delicious. 29 reasons are a lot of reasons!
I like the number 6. I put it into practice some times. But just some times!
I would add to the 8 and the 18 the following: “to impress the opposite sex”. Or probably I would just add it to the 19.xd
Another one, a bit more scientist than the others: “to become smarter” (also related to 25). Some people really think you get smarter when you learn a second language (if you are an adult. Well, for sure it also works whith over 5;d).
I am not sure about that one, but probably you get sharper, a bit sharper. XD
    Thanks a lot.
    Greetings from Spain
