I couldn’t agree more, and have just posted an entry about my mother, who passed away on 29th Feb 1988. We should certainly give some time on the 29th to remember all those who don’t, as you say, have an anniversary each year.
I never gave that any thought before, Fiona. I guess it made your pain a little harder to cope with three years out of four.
I have only ever thought about those who only get to truly celebrate their birthday once every four years. Thanks for opening up my mind and I hope those who are remembering the loss of loved ones on this day can be comforted with fond memories this Feb 29th.
That is a loving tradition. We read about celebrating birthdays on this Leap Day, but this is the first I’ve thought about remembrances.
